Strategic Environmental Assessment

This Strategic Environmental Assessment was undertaken by Neath Port Talbot Council. it is supposed to identify environmental issues and provide information toward a plan to monitor and address them.

HEALTH WARNING -If you read this report you could lose your will to live.

As you can see this document is presented with large areas of information incomplete and the major environmental issues of this development are not addressed in anywhere near the detail one would expect. It makes broad sweeping generalisations, inconsistent statements and is in parts factually incorrect. The assessment is clearly a cosmetic desktop exercise and confines itself solely to the elements defined within the 2004 regulations. There is no attempt to extend the boundary for assessment (to adjacent ecologically sensitive sites which will be affected by the development) or to obtain local details relative to the Bryncoch Farm location. This is evident from the fact that the check box for 'Further information needed ' for each element is blank throughout the entire document. The document does not fulfil the objectives of a true Strategic Environmental assessment and should be rejected.
